The candidate must hold a degree in business or related discipline and 4 years experience in bunker broking/trading. Solid organization, negotiation and communication skills are a must in order to build and maintain relationships with customers. Person must be a team player and be able to work well under pressure with a methodical eye for details. Person must also be ready to be on call in the evenings and weekends.

Montreal Marine Services Inc. is looking to fill a Marine Agent/Marine Coordinator position in Montreal. Salary range: competitive and taking into account previous relevant experience.
Job Duties:
• coordination of cargo handling operations for tankers/chemical tankers in port
• expediting vessels’ proper turnaround in port, working in close contact with shippers, receivers, local cargo terminal personnel to minimize time losses and additional costs for owners\charterers
• arrangement of all relevant documents for imported and exported cargo, including issuance of cargo manifests, bills of lading, certificates of origin and other pertinent paperwork on behalf of master\shipowners\charterers
• electronic filing with Canada Customs and Immigration, Canadian and US Coast Guard, Canadian and US Seaway authorities
• following up inquiries of potential customers, providing information on various Canadian ports specifically handling liquid bulk cargoes including submission of proforma disbursement accounts for estimate port call costs
• inward\outward clearance with customs/immigration and other regulatory formalities
• boarding vessels in ports of the provinces of Quebec and Ontario
Job Qualifications:
The successful candidate must have several years experience in the shipping business preferably as a Marine Agent/Coordinator/Boarding Agent and be able to demonstrate general knowledge and familiarity with shipping documentation. Seagoing experience is a definite asset.
Candidates are required to be familiar with ports in Quebec and Ontario, be holders of a valid driving license, ready to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends. Must have excellent verbal and written skills in English, typing skills and working knowledge of PC is a must. Attention to detail and an aptitude for a fast paced, multi-tasking customer oriented environment are among the necessary skills.
Education: minimum Secondary level.
Higher education preferred.
