CN announced that the 2013 CN Employees’ and Pensioners’ Community Fund (the Fund) campaign raised more than $1.5 million for charities focused primarily in Quebec and Ontario – the fifth successive year that the Fund has generated more than $1 million in charitable contributions.
Over the past ten years, the Fund has raised more than $10 million in donations to assist a range of agencies, including Centraide/United Way, to help the poor and less fortunate.
Vee Kachroo, co-President of Campaign 2013 and CN Vice-President of supply chain solutions, said: “The outstanding results of the 2013 campaign make all of us at CN very proud, and it clearly shows how CN, through the dedication and generosity of its employees and retirees, along with the outstanding work of the canvassers, volunteers and committee members, is committed to giving back to the communities in which we operate, making them better places to live, work and play.”
Jean-Michel Hallé, co-President of Campaign 2013 and Vice-General chairman of the Teamsters Canada Rail Conference, said: “Thanks to everyone involved for making this a record year, and for helping make a real difference in the lives of so many people.”
Every dollar raised by the Fund goes directly to organizations that employees and pensioners wish to support as the Fund relies exclusively on volunteers and the services and facilities of the company.
