Under the theme “Pushing the limits” the Association of Canadian Port Authorities is planning to host its Annual Conference in Montreal from September 29 to October 1. Julie Payette, COO of the Montreal Science Centre, will address delegates at an event being planned at the Montreal Science Centre.

 

Most activities will take place at the Westin Hotel in Old Montreal. The conference programme will be published later.

Board changes at Montreal Port Authority

On the recommendation of the Minister of Transport, Lisa Raitt, in consultation with the users, His Excellency the Governor General in Council has reappointed Michel M. Lessard and Anik Trudel as Directors of the Montreal Port Authority.

Mr. Lessard has been a member of the Board of Directors since 2007 and Chair since 2009. Ms. Trudel, for her part, has been a member of the Board since 2008 and has served as Vice-Chair since 2013.

Furthermore, Mr. Lessard is pleased to announce the appointment by the Governor General in Council, on the recommendation of the federal Minister of Transport in consultation with port users, of Marie-Claude Boisvert as Director of the Montreal Port Authority. This appointment is effective December 11, 2014 through to December 10, 2017. The Board of Directors and senior management of the Port of Montreal welcome Ms. Boisvert, and are pleased that she is joining the port team.

Ms. Boisvert, CA, has been COO of Desjardins Business Capital régional et coopératif since 2009. In this capacity, she oversees management of the Capital régional et coopératif Desjardins fund. She joined the Desjardins team in 1994 and has worked for more than 20 years in business financing in Quebec. During her career, Ms. Boisvert carried out audits, interim management, business turnarounds and consulting engagements for numerous SMEs.
