Since NAFTA’s implementation in 1994, overall trade between the United States, Canada, and Mexico has grown by 198 percent. U.S. goods exported to Canada and Mexico have grown 157 percent and U.S. goods imported from Canada and Mexico have grown by 231 percent. Each day, NAFTA partners conduct over $2.4 billion in trilateral goods trade, which equates to $1.7 million per minute. A growing trend is U.S. Customs and Border Protection’s increased attention to validating trade agreements.
