BBC Chartering, provider of multipurpose and heavy lift shipping services, recently announced the bolstering of its business in Korea. While BBC Chartering opened a representative office in Seoul back in 2003, following a recent reorganization the carrier now has a local team of ten to provide chartering, operations and technical services, headed by Paul Kim as Managing Director. BBC Chartering’s Lars Schoennemann, MD of the office in Singapore, commented as follows “Korea represents a strategic growth market for us. Here we clearly strive to play a bigger role in the future. We are pleased about the expansion of our presence in Korea, and help our clients with our global shipping solutions.” BBC is represented in the Far East through offices in Shanghai, Tokyo, and its regional headquarters in Singapore.
Based in Leer, Germany, BBC Chartering commenced operations in 1997 with a fleet of seven multipurpose vessels. The company today markets the single largest multipurpose and heavy lift fleet in the market. Fleet size and composition ensure high performance levels to charterers offering lifting capacities up to 800mt on tramp, liner and contract services. BBC Chartering has 28 sales and chartering offices worldwide.
