Nominated by the government of Quebec, Trois-Rivières Port Authority (TRPA) has appointed Danielle St. Amand to its Board of Directors for a three year term, and announced the re-appointment of François Dupuis to its Board. This will be the third term of Mr. Dupuis.
Elected MNA for the riding of Trois-Rivières in 2008, Ms. St. Amand served consecutively as Parliamentary Assistant to the Minister of Families, the Minister of Public Security and was named Deputy Whip for the government in February, 2011. She was re-elected in September 2012. Prior to her political career, Ms. St. Amand worked in education and held the position of General Manager of Tourisme Mauricie and General Manager of the Festival Western de St-Tite for several years. She was also the President and CEO of the Fondation du Centre hospitalier régional de Trois-Rivières (CHRTR).
Cleo Marchand, Chairman of the Board, commented on Mr. Dupuis’ appointment:
“It is with great pleasure that we welcomed the federal government’s decision to renew the mandate of Mr. Dupuis to our Board.” Mr. Dupuis worked in the region for many years and has an excellent knowledge of the Port’s projects and their importance to the development of the region. “Both TRPA and members of the Board are privileged to benefit from his skills and experience.”
Mr. Dupuis is partner in charge of tax services for the Mauricie region for the firm Raymond Chabot Grant Thornton. He is a member of the Ordre des comptables professionnels agréés du Québec, and has a Master of Taxation degree from the University of Sherbrooke. He has worked with chartered accountancy firms in Trois-Rivières, Montreal and Sherbrooke and is a frequent speaker at conferences dealing with taxation.
