The Canadian Freight Forwarders Association (CIFFA), in its on-going efforts to ensure its member companies have access to the latest in training is pleased to launch a new online offering that complements CIFFA’s Certificate Programs as of March 4, 2013.
Within freight forwarding organizations there may be a lot of movement of employees from one division to another through restructuring (from the airfreight division to the ocean freight division for example), or movement through promotion, or returning from maternity or paternity leave etc. There may also be employees who completed the CIFFA certificate many years ago, and feel like they need some current development. For these and many other reasons it is important to increase knowledge and skill in an ever changing industry.
Our new online offerings are available as standalone courses in Ocean Freight, Air Freight, Land Transportation, Customs Brokerage and Trade Finance. These courses were developed for continuous training only, and are completed at the student’s leisure within a four week period. The lessons include a pre-test and post-test to self-evaluate progress, but do not have exams with the exception of the Road DG lesson as it includes the road DG certification.
The new courses do not count towards the CIFFA Certificate Programs but completion of any of them does count towards the PFF renewal requirements for continuous learning. Anyone who holds a CIFFA Certificate or the PFF Designation will receive a limited time promotional offering of 50 per cent discount.
Online registrations for the new refresher courses will be available as of March 1. You may register at learning.ciffa.com.
