For the first time ever, CITT is making part of its professional development conference – Reposition 2012 – available online to logistics professionals across Canada and around the world.

On the morning of Monday, November 5th, CITT will be streaming two “Reposition 2012” learning sessions live, direct from Halifax. To the best of CITT’s knowledge, this is the first time a Canadian supply chain and logistics organization has offered any part of a conference online in real time. CITT’s “Virtual Conference Sessions” were made possible with the help of its sponsor, CN.

The two learning sessions to be webcast are: “Multi-Modal C-Suite Panel: The Big Game Changers in Supply Chain and Logistics That Leading Edge Industry Professionals Should be Proactively Managing” at 8:30am ADT, and “Developing Effective KPI’s to Measure Supply Chain Performance” at 11am ADT. The sessions will be fully interactive, so viewers can submit questions to the panellists and speakers while the sessions are in progress.

According to CITT Board Chair Warren Sarafinchan, offering people who are unable to travel or attend professional development conferences with the opportunity to experience Reposition 2012 learning was something CITT had wanted to invest in. As webcasting technology became more reliable, CITT is now able to offer Virtual Sessions to its members and to industry professionals everywhere.

“It has long been our goal to provide all of our members with convenient access to the type of world-class learning that Reposition offers, no matter where they live or work,” said Mr. Sarafinchan. “Our highly successful webinar series launched in 2011 proved we could deliver timely, relevant professional development to people in need of more accessible and affordable learning options.”

Before the conference, participants will receive a link to log in the Virtual Sessions. The sessions can be watched from any computer or screen at home or at the office, and can be viewed alone or in groups. Technical requirements are minimal, so any viewer who can watch and listen to YouTube videos will be able to take part. A recording of the broadcast will be archived following the conference that can be re-watched repeatedly long after the event has ended.

The cost will be $99 for CITT members and CITT students, and $299 for non-members. Participants must register by November 2nd.

Reposition 2012—the national symposium for supply chain and logistics professionals hosted by CITT— will be held in Halifax from November 4-6.
