Freight Management Association of Canada (FMA) is pleased to announce that Craig Olley, Director of Logistics for Teck Resources Limited’s coal group has been chosen as its 2015 Supply Chain Executive of the Year.
Craig leads Teck’s coal global logistics operations which involve port facilities, vessel and Great Lakes operations, rail service with CN, CP, and BNSF, and transload operations in other countries. In making the award, FMA’s Board of Directors was impressed by the depth and breadth of Mr. Olley’s experience in managing a complex bulk multi-modal logistics function, with both inland and export terminals along with operating within a significant annual freight budget. Teck is one of the world’s largest producers and exporters of metallurgical coal.
With Craig’s leadership in the areas of coal dust mitigation throughout the logistics chain, Teck continues to be the best-in-class in this area. His initiative to introduce new dust mitigation technology and systems has also enhanced Teck’s overall environmental performance. Craig’s work embodies Teck’s approach to sustainability which has resulted in Teck being named to the Dow Jones Sustainability World Index (DJSI) for the sixth straight year in 2015, indicating that Teck’s sustainability practices rank in the top ten percent of the 2,500 largest companies in the S&P Global Broad Market Index (BMI).

During the recent award presentation in Niagara Falls, ON, Mr. Olley praised the expertise, dedication and professionalism of the Teck Logistics group and noted that his success was a direct result of a greater team effort.
