The 1st Annual Marine Career Awareness Day, to be hosted by the Mission to Seafarers Southern Ontario (MTSSO), Hamilton Port Authority and The Marine Club on June 27, will consist of a Career and Job Fair in the afternoon from 12:00 to 16:00h. Employers and educators representing different aspects of the marine community will be available to those interested in learning about opportunities for employment and education leading to a career in the diverse environment of the marine industry, and related industries. There is no admission charge to attend the job fair. For employers who wish to participate, the cost for a booth is $600 plus electrical requirements.

From 17:30 to 21:30h, there will be an opportunity to network and enjoy an evening of entertainment, including live music, with a silent and live auction. This will be an opportunity to bring customers, guests and staff and celebrate the accomplishments of the industry. Dinner tickets are $150 per person.

Sponsorship levels are available which include a job fair booth and tickets for the celebration dinner.

Space is limited for both booths and dinner seating. The deadline to reserve your booth is May 20, 2017.

The event coincides with June 25th International Day of the Seafarer celebrated worldwide and promoting the theme that “Seafarers Matter”.

Proceeds from the event will go to the Mission to Seafarers Southern Ontario (MTSSO), which for the past 57 years has been looking out for the welfare of seafarers in the port of Hamilton. MTSSO also has facilities in the ports of Toronto and Oshawa.
