Mariners’ House held its Annual General Meeting on June 21, with all members of the executive remaining in their positions: Mario Minotti, Director of Finance and Administration, Shipping Federation of Canada, continues in his second year as President and Treasurer of Mariners’ House, while John Gareau, President of Seamont Brokerage and Transport, remains Secretary. First Vice-President is Robert Zeagman, President of Seagulf Marine Industries, and second Vice-President is Suzanne Bleau-Myrand, Marketing Director, Fednav. Michael Fratianni, President and CEO of Montreal Gateway Terminals Partnership, remains the ex-officio President.

Also elected to the Board of Directors are Tony Boemi, Jeremy Bolger, Domenic Bravi, Michael Broad, Alan Espey, Christopher Gillespie, Joyce Hammock, Ross Kennedy, Tim McBoyle and Josh VanderVeen. After serving as a board member for seven years, Mr. Flavio Tiseo retired and was replaced by Robert Tiseo.

In his address, the President said that Mariners’ House urgently required funds to cover operating costs and to acquire a new 24-passenger bus. A fundraising ‘Comedy Evening’ featuring a show by Sugar Sammy will be held on August 25 at the Leonardo Da Vinci Centre and it is hoped that this event will be well attended by all supporters.
