Thunder Bay Port Authority, along with the City of Thunder Bay and the Thunder Bay Chamber of Commerce, held its annual Opening of Navigation “Top Hat” Ceremony at the Thunder Bay Port Authority office on March 27, recognizing the MV Tim S. Dool as the vessel that opened the local navigation season.
The Tim S. Dool, which is owned by Algoma Central Corporation, arrived at Mission Terminals during the early hours of March 27, and loaded 25,000 tomes of durum. Captain Donald Anderson and Chief Engineer Evgueni Ananiev were welcomed.
The Port Authority also recognized the arrival of two additional vessels which arrived a short while later: Kaministiqua and Pineglen. Algoma Olympic, which wintered in Thunder Bay, also loaded with grain on March 27.
