Terence Bowles, President and CEO of The St. Lawrence Seaway Management Corporation (SLSMC) announced that Guy Yelle, Vice President, Operations, will be retiring in June after an exemplary career spanning 30 years at the Seaway.
Succeeding Guy Yelle as Vice President, Operations, will be Stephen Kwok, who previously served as Vice President, Engineering and Technology, and has over 26 years of experience at the Seaway in both engineering and operating roles. Jim Athanasiou has been promoted to fill the position of Vice President, Engineering and Technology, stepping up from his role as General Manager of Business Improvement. Jim recently completed an EMBA from McGill – HEC Montréal and has been with the Seaway for some seven years.
In sharing the announcement, Terence Bowles noted his sincere appreciation for the support and counsel that Guy Yelle provided. “Guy exemplifies the values that we have at the Seaway and, in particular, his dedication to keeping downtime and navigational delays to a minimum has resulted in our customers, shippers and carriers holding the SLSMC in high regard” said Bowles. “We wish Guy a very rewarding retirement.”
