The Shipping Federation of Canada announced the appointment of Mr. Bill McKinstry as Director, West Coast Operations and Captain Norman Stark as Senior Advisor, West Coast. Bill McKinstry is a marine transportation executive with experience in all facets of the shipping industry. He has held senior positions with major ship owners and agencies with operations on the west coast and joined Zim Integrated Shipping Services in 1999.
In 2000, he opened Zim’s Vancouver office and was appointed to the position of General Manager responsible for operations throughout the Pacific Northwest. Mr. McKinstry will be responsible for representing the Federation’s west coast members with local stakeholders effective October 1st, 2013. Norman Stark has had a high profile and widely respected career in the maritime sector for the past thirty years. He is the former President and CEO of the Vancouver Port Authority (1991 to 2000), the former President and CEO of TSI Terminal Systems (2001 to 2008), and the former President and CEO of GCT Global Container Terminals (2007 to 2008). He continues to be a major figure in Canada’s trade and transportation industry today, with particularly strong ties to the west coast maritime community. Capt. Stark will provide strategic advice to Federation management. His appointment is effective July 1st, 2013.
