Termont Montréal Inc., one of two container terminal operators in the port of Montréal, has ordered five rubber-tired gantry cranes from Konecranes. The cranes will be delivered in the second half of 2016. Julien Dubreuil, General Manager of Termont Montréal Inc. stated: “We selected Konecranes RTGs at the conclusion of a thorough evaluation process covering every aspect of RTG performance, operation, maintenance and support. We are confident that we made the right decision, and look forward to receiving the cranes.”

The five are 16-wheel RTGs will have a lifting capacity of 60 tons, stacking 1-over-6 containers high and 6 rows plus truck lane wide. They will be equipped with a driver-assisting feature which keeps the crane on a pre-programmed, straight path and will also be equipped with a remote service feature that reduces crane downtime by ensuring that Konecranes’ technical expertise is available for remote problem-solving.

“I’m very happy to have earned this business with Termont Montréal Inc.,” said Antoine Bosquet, Sales Director, Port Cranes, Konecranes. “I look forward to delivering the cranes in good shape, and building a long-term, mutually beneficial relationship.”
