The Commission des partenaires du marché du travail  awarded a certificate to Ocean Industries for its commitment to ongoing training. The Isle-aux-Coudres shipyard is one of the first of 85 companies to sign the “Investissement-compétences” initiative.

Jean-Luc Trahan, President of the Commission, visited the shipbuilding facilities and was delighted by the measures taken by Ocean Industries for recruiting and training of the workforce. Ongoing education provides opportunities to the young workers. The environment is technologically advanced. It is perfect for a company where the average age of the workers is 27 years old. The shipyard currently employs over 160 workers but is looking for a minimum of 30 additional employees.
