The ship agents at Thunder Bay Shipping Inc. are gearing up for another strong season in the port of Thunder Bay. Thunder Bay Shipping offers a full range of port services customized for specific vessel and cargo requirements. Agency President and Managing Director William Hryb describes the company as reliable and dependable. “We offer experienced representation, delivering cost-saving services clients expect and are accustomed to,” says Hryb.

Mr. Hryb has been associated with the shipping industry at the Port since 1975, operating in executive and managerial positions. In 2010, along with his son, David Hryb, Thunder Bay Shipping was launched. Five years later, the agency continues to grow, offering innovative and effective expertise for their world-wide principals. “In a rapidly changing shipping industry, the agency has succeeded in developing a solid foundation of responsibility and integrity,” says Hryb. Thunder Bay Shipping represents shipowners, ship operators, shippers and charterers, from the agricultural, mining and special project cargo sectors.

In 2014, the inland Lake Superior port, located at the head of the Great Lakes/St. Lawrence Seaway System handled an impressive 9.3 million tonnes of cargo – the highest volume in sixteen years. With the 2015 shipping season quickly approaching, expectations of another robust season remain strong.

Hryb indicates that port user groups are gearing up for the opening of navigation and are eager to contribute to the success of the port. “Notwithstanding, Thunder Bay Shipping intends to be an integral partner to the vitality and prosperity of the port,” says Hryb. The agency’s mission statement, ‘When Performance and Experience Matters’ reflects this commitment and dedication.
