The Vancouver Maritime Museum has been named one of the top ten best Maritime Museums in the world by Marine Insight. Among the top ten are the San Diego Maritime Museum, Sydney Maritime Museum and Netherlands National Maritime Museum.
“This is a wonderful acknowledgement of the quality of our Vancouver Maritime Museum, its collection and of the depth of our maritime heritage in the Northwest. What seems like a small building on the outside is actually a treasure chest full of amazing surprises right here in our own backyard. This ranking recognizes that fact,” said Simon Robinson, Executive Director.
The Vancouver Maritime Museum, located in Vanier Park at 1905 Ogden Avenue, is Canada’s principal maritime museum on the Pacific Coast. For over 50 years, the Museum has been Pacific Canada’s premier link to maritime history, art, culture, industry and technology. The Museum inspires all visitors to be life-long learners, and to gain a deeper understanding of how people respond to and interact with the sea.
